realizing things like 'To lose all fear, one must lose all hope, for without hope he/she has nothing to look forward to, thus nothing to fear. Thats sounds pretty damn emo to me, I thought at first, "what if a tiger was coming at you!?"
then it actualy refered directly to that situation, when something, with simply intent to kill, comes at you the hopless state of mind acts by simply knowing that the worst that can possibly happen is you could be tiger-mounted and raped, slashed apart, disembowled and eventualy cunsumed... that sounds... bad, but with the hopless state of mind you can be fully at peace with that.
Religion is a form of hope, i gives people a feeling of security were ever they go. They don't say anything about religion on the path of enlightenment i read, so i guess they think you can stay praying and still be monk Stan the guy who meditates and goes to chuch every sunday. I'm agnostic cause i'm to lazy, and to agravated with child molesting preists, i'm irish catholic and thats about as catholic as it gets.
